We are creating a fair and inclusive future for everyone who works at or enjoys the arts, theatre, dance, literature, museums, film, musicals, and beyond. But – we can’t do it alone.
We are inviting individuals, cultural organisations and leaders across the UK to shape a national strategy on anti-racist action in the creative sector. Together we will develop a cross-sector programme that supports organisations to make positive inclusive change.
In October, we begin a series of collaborative workshops, where we will begin to shape the Arts Against Racism programme. These workshops are open to anyone in the sector, and you are welcome to join any – or all – of them.
CONDUCT > REPORT > MONITOR > CELEBRATE > ENGAGE
From September 2021, we begin a series of collaborative workshops that will shape strategy and outcomes for the sector. You are welcome to join all workshops, or simply drop in to whichever ones appeal to you.

Code of Conduct
This workshop builds a fit-for-purpose code of conduct that will be followed by arts and culture organisations, venues and audiences alike, that works across all art forms.
Reporting
We have strong evidence from thousands of ethnically diverse arts workers that an independent space for raising concerns is vital, as it is ensures that they are heard and understood. This workshop will develop what that workable reporting mechanism will look like for the arts and culture sector.

Monitoring and Accountability
Earlier this year, Inc Arts launched the Unlock anti-racist toolkit. This enables like-for-like comparisons on the core actions that organisations and workers can take to building equality, inclusivity and diversity. This workshop will explore how we should continue to monitor, benchmark and account for anti-racist action in the sector.

Celebration and reward
How do we recognise, celebrate and commemorate those that are making positive steps, implementing change in the sector, and demonstrating best practice in inclusive action? And how do we facilitate this for freelancers and individuals – as well as organisations?
This workshop will put together a framework for how we can shine a light on those who are leading the way in positive change.

Engagement
How do we communicate Arts Against Racism to the world, and how do we engage our audiences in anti-racist action? This workshop will explore how to disseminate examples of inclusive behaviours, productions, actions, and teams across the cultural sector. What else should we be doing to build inclusion? This will be a space to share your ideas for collaborative and inclusive action in the sector.
