Inc Arts is peer-led, and peer-tested. Here's where you'll find ideas, suggestions and initiatives from our members. Contact us if you want to share your news. As we grow membership we will be creating a confidential space for members. Right now this is a public space for all to share.
Some things are easiest said - and dealt with - together. Inc Arts members will help shape strategy, formulate policy change and be involved in industry-changing research to bring about change.
Inc Arts works collaboratively, and confidentially. We can give voice to those who want change - but without risking their jobs. We also support employers to find out what they can do to help. With membership you get

Question - Where else can we get funding aside from the Arts Council -
A - gained funding for the first time , there is a need for us to know what to ask for.
We have barriers to applying, as an artist we need the support of an administrators in order to be free to create
K is running an advisory consultation for first time applicants.
If you have applied before you are welcome to join . First step and the application itself.
All done with a relationship manager for the ACE.
There is a need to understand the language within the application. The need of an administrator, this is a missing link for ACE where funding is concerned .
Applicants should apply with their name on the money as it influences how you make/write the application. Think you will get it
Make time to research the arts council, answer all the bullet point questions. Look at their links on how to do things . Example ITC rates for paying people.
Answer to A's Question- It takes longer to get over 15,000. Discussion time varies.
Do not restrict your ambition. Step up your game if you have applied more than once. Try a higher amount if that is your need. Alison thought this is much clearer guidance.
SYFAB FUNDING stream - put in your requirements and they will throw out lots of funding bodies that may cover your needs.
Times scale for funding - deadlines, be aware.
Consider crowd funding and funding in kind so that you have something in place when you are applying.
Funding the BLACK COMMUNITY - imbalance in how the Black community is funded, we cannot compete with the likes of the English National Ballet , we need to look at the how Black arts are assessed, the lenses of the individual who assess the application places black people’s application at a disadvantage, sometimes they are competing with the applicant.
We need ring fenced money for young black artist funding - we have been disadvantaged, there is a need ring fenced money in order for first times to get the support and start the need.
We cannot compete with big organisations who have fund writers being paid £500 a day to write a bid.
We need bid writers, administrators are paid more than the artist.
